Commercial Advisor
How I help construction contractors:
Clients. Identifying and engaging with new clients, ensuring a steady pipeline of quality work rather than relying on a handful of relationships.
Contracts. We ensure you have a repeatable pricing process and only sign contracts that work in your favour—protecting your margins and securing profitability from the outset.
Construction. You already know how to manage your projects. The next level is when your team can manage the work without you. We'll put in place systems and structures so that everyone knows what to do and when to do it—so you spend less time firefighting and more time scaling.
Cashflow. We put in place processes that ensure you know exactly what your profits are, what you’re owed, and how to recover the cost of variations. This protects cash flow and ensures you can escalate when payments are delayed.
My approach is simple but powerful:
Benchmark your business against the most successful contractors
Identify the biggest gaps in leads, pricing, contracts, operations and cash flow
Build a blueprint—a step-by-step plan to win better work, increase profits and get paid on time
Why did I develop this?
I started my career working for a small groundworks subcontractor.
I was on site on my own. I had a QS degree but none of it was of any use. If I encountered issues, I had no-one to ask for advice. The company did not have a commercial structure.
So then I left and worked with some of the bigger firms. I’ve led commercial teams on £100 million projects. I’ve led change management teams on £1billion projects. I’ve done the work.
So I know what works for the biggest companies on the biggest projects. I know what best practice is. And I’ve tried it all out for the smallest companies on the smallest projects. I’ve distilled what works to the basic principles.
In a nutshell, I want to bring best commercial practice from the top contractors to the smaller firms.
