Cost Control.
How do you make sure that the site team is thinking commercially. You can't be on site all day.
You have to provide a clear description of the works. The method statement should cover everything in the scope of works. It has to be drafted in accordance with your commercial aims.
The site team have to own the budget. How many people are in the budget? What plant and equipment is going to be used? Where do we get materials from? Who places orders and who approves orders?
Then, you need to go through the procedure when things change. What if we encounter unforeseen ground conditions? What if access is delayed? What if the site layout is different? What if the design changes?
You need to make sure that when things change, the site team can react in a way that ensure you maximise your profits.
